at Allegheny Ridge is pleased to offer exceptional AKC registered Labrador
Retriever puppies to exceptional owners. We have been responsible breeders
since 1992. Our Labradors are from championship backgrounds in both field
and show. We specialize in breeding the traditional, "blocky-headed"
type of Lab; mainly Chocolates, but have
other colors available periodically. Located in Montoursville, Pennsylvania,
our dogs thrive on plenty of fresh air and wide open spaces in our country
kennel. All of our dogs are AKC registered, and we follow a very selective
breeding program that emphasizes soundness, health, ability, conformation
and temperament. Our adorable puppies are raised in a family environment
where they receive plenty of love and gentle handling from the time they are
born to the time they are placed in their new homes. Our pups have personality
plus, and we are very proud of their excellent dispositions.

Health
Issues
As
very responsible breeders, we take every possible measure to make sure that
all of our dogs are healthy and free from inheritable diseases. Our dogs
are carefully screened by our veterinarian prior to breeding, including
OFA hip and PENN hip testing and heart screening. Puppies are vet-checked,
vaccinated, de-wormed and have had their dew claws removed prior to being
placed in their new homes, and come with a veterinary certificate of health.
We offer a health guarantee against any genetic disorders or defects, including
a 2 year guarantee against hip problems. As responsible breeders, we
recommend that puppies be spayed or neutered at the appropriate age.

Puppy Placements
When
it comes to placing our dogs with their new owners, we are careful to ensure
that potential buyers are able to offer a good home where the puppy will receive
the care, attention, nutrition, exercise and veterinary care that it needs
in order to live an long, happy and healthy life. There should be a secure,
fenced yard, or a dedicated walking schedule, and prospective buyers should
demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Labrador Retriever breed and show
that they are responsible pet owners. We're happy to provide our new puppy
owners with any advice and support that may be needed, and we love to stay
in touch with our pups after they leave us for their new homes. We are always
willing to welcome one of our puppies back in the unfortunate event that the
new owners are unable to keep it for any reason.
